What NZoneGL Is

XN Technology
XN stands for Xcelerated Nitrogen. It’s what’s inside NZoneGL and what does the work of holding your fall N investment in place.
XN is calcium-based. When applied with your nitrogen, it helps nitrogen attach to soil colloids in the top layer of the profile, holding it near the root zone instead of letting it drift down with soil water. It also slows the water movement itself, which reduces the volume of water carrying nitrate through the profile.
The important part is what XN isn’t. It’s not a traditional nitrification inhibitor. Traditional inhibitors work by suppressing the bacteria that convert ammonium to nitrate. XN works on physical placement instead. That’s why it holds nitrogen without shutting down the biology in your soil.
What the Third-Party Research Shows
XN Technology has been evaluated at three independent sites across different soil types and climates. Results have been consistent year over year.
Central Lakes College, Staples, Minnesota
Sandy soil, three years, groundwater monitoring wells and lysimeters at four and six feet. XN-treated ground was compared to untreated control under the same nitrogen program.
Year after year, nitrate concentrations in the root zone at four feet were up to four times higher on the treated ground. Groundwater samples on the untreated side spiked with every fertigation event, meaning nitrate was moving straight through the sandy profile and into the groundwater. On the treated side, those spikes didn’t happen.
Irrigation Research Foundation, Yuma, Colorado
Irrigated corn, multiple years, soil moisture and ion movement measured at six depths from the surface down to fifty centimeters. Two rates of UAN, treated with XN and untreated, under identical irrigation programs.
Two findings. On the untreated side, water moved fastest through the profile after every irrigation or rainfall event, carrying nitrate down with it. On the XN-treated side, water moved more slowly and stayed in the root zone longer. Ion movement, the direct measure of nitrate migration, was significantly reduced at every depth on the treated side.
Bottom line: XN-treated fields held nitrogen at the depths where roots could reach it. Untreated fields lost it below the root zone.
Acres Research, Northern Iowa
Multi-year study measuring soil bacteria under four treatments: anhydrous alone, anhydrous with NZoneGL, anhydrous with a competitor product, and a control with no nitrogen.
Colony counts and colony-forming units per gram were measured across replications and years. NZoneGL-treated ground showed colony counts fifty percent higher than the competitor product. CFUs per gram came in eighty percent higher.
The Iowa data isn’t about nitrogen retention. It’s about what XN doesn’t do. Products that protect nitrogen by suppressing microbial activity give you retention at the cost of soil health. XN gives you both.
