At AgXplore, we wanted to create a technology that would manage nitrogen, not just stabilize it. When you think about nitrogen management, the four R’s may come to mind. This includes the right product, the right rate, the right time, and the right place. Our XN technology focuses on placement.
A few products that utilize this technology along with NBPT is ContaiN, ContaiN Advanced and ContaiN Max. For the growers that impregnate urea with ContaiN family products, they will have NBPT to control the volatility and loss of nitrogen into the atmosphere. The product will also be powered with our XN technology which will keep nitrogen in the upper inches of the soil profile after it receives moisture. Between these two factors, growers can expect a high solution of nitrogen to be located right around the root system.
Placement is key when it comes to nitrogen because of the soil’s composition. When using our XN technology, nitrogen is able to remain in the right place of the soil. For example, let’s say anhydrous is seven inches deep in the soil. It then serves as a CEC site, and it walks nitrogen right into this zone. Instead of the ammonium ion coming down and looking for open soil colloid that has a negative charged site to attach to, we have created negative sites in our zone. This then keeps the nitrogen in the upper inches of the soil along with the root system.
Our technology helps prioritize nitrogen in the ammonium form, encourages nitrogen uptake, holds nitrogen near the top of the soil and reduces leaching while gradually feeding plants. To learn more about what AgXplore products utilize this technology visit our products page.
